“The Treasure of Bharat” is the title of a collection of my paintings created over the past two years, inspired by the ancient murals of the Ajanta Caves in India.
My motivation for creating these works comes from my deep interest in yoga and meditation, with the hope of conveying a sense of inner silence and tranquility to my viewers.
My medium is acrylic on canvas, using various techniques such as pressing crumpled newspaper onto wet paint. In some pieces, I have also incorporated scratching techniques as well as relief textures created with hot glue and wood glue.
My ultimate goal is for visitors to leave the exhibition with the same feeling one experiences after a long, profound meditation.
